Welcome to The Sea Shanty where every effort has been made to create the calm, relaxing environment essential of a lovely Texas Gulf Coast beach vacation. The open concept living area offers a pleasant gathering space for friends and family. Create fabulous meals in the bright, efficient kitchen and enjoy views of the ocean while washing up after at the oversized kitchen sink. Percolate coffee or practice mixology at the spacious wet bar. Enjoy comfortable overnights in the 4 guest rooms; The Ocean Room features a king bed, an en-suite bath with double sinks, a large walk-in shower, and provides access to the back deck. The Bird Room features a king bed, an en-suite bath with a tub/shower combo and provides access to the front deck. The Oyster Room features a king bed, shares the hall bath (appointed with a walk-in shower) and provides access to the front deck. The Bunk Room, featuring 3 single bunks and a touch of kid-inspired whimsy, also shares the hall bath, and maintains security from outside access. The outdoor shower, located on the ground level, is the perfect place to de-sand from a day at the beach.

"What an amazing experience at the Sea Shanty! Our family went on a quick weekend getaway before the rush of the holidays to enjoy a weekend together in Galveston. Being a family of five we frequently use VRBO when traveling, the Sea Shanty is by far the nicest property we have ever stayed in. The house is not only beautiful but also sparkling clean and the owners have thought of every single amenity possible to make your stay comfortable.
The beds are very comfortable, and the house has excellent high-quality linens and towels in every room. The kitchen is beautiful, well appointed and has everything you need. We enjoyed cups of coffee in the morning and glasses of wine in the evening on the big, beautiful deck while listening to the ocean and taking in the amazing view of the Gulf. Our kiddos loved sleeping in the bunk room and enjoyed the variety of board games provided in the living room.
The proximity to the beach is great! Being just three houses away from the beach means its just a quick two-minute walk down to the beach. Pirates Beach is my favorite beach to visit. It’s a wonderfully calm and quaint beach community, and the beach is beautiful!
The Sea Shanty is perfectly located. Its just a quick 15-minute drive to downtown Galveston. We enjoyed taking our family to Moody Gardens and Bishops Palace and then returning to the peace and serenity of Pirates Beach.

“Our group of 9 (teens kids and adults) just had the most fantastic long weekend at Sea Shanty in Pirates Beach. What a beautiful and well appointed beach house! Absolutely everything we needed and then some was provided… we are all seasoned renters of vacation houses and we have never been in a rental that was so beautifully furnished and generously appointed with ALL the things families need when they travel. We were down on the island to enjoy Mardi Gras Galveston and enjoyed the beach chairs on the beach on our sunny days (and a wagon to haul them), We cooked two nights and the kitchen and dining area were spacious and comfortable. The deck furnishings and views did not disappoint and we had so much fun hanging out. Kids loved the swings downstairs and the bunk room, and we all enjoyed having our own king bedrooms and not fighting over who got the king! You can tell this home was built for ultimate family time enjoyment and the owners have clearly gone above and beyond to make the rental feel like you are staying at a 5 star resort. The house feels brand new and was impeccably clean… a shanty it is not. Already planning our next visit when it warms up a bit. Highly recommend this beach house rental!"
